Afghan Youth Voices Festival

Youth Affairs Deputy Ministry of Ministry of Information and Culture of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan have launch a three days conference for celebrating the International Youth Day in Afghanistan. Here is the youth national conference resolution.

Youth representative from all around Afghanistan in the historical conference with an accurate understanding of the country and youth’s situation and analysis of the youth’s real needs and wants for the development and improvement of the country discussed eight important issues (peace, security, governing, education, health and drugs, gender, voluntarism, employment and trade, youth and media and youth and civil) and the outcome of this important and effective gathering was presented in 13 articles for the improvement of the situation in the country.

1. We, the youth national conference participant through realizing our religious and national responsibilities and considering that every nation’s development and improvement is related to the awakening of the youth of that nation, have to participate in each aspect of country’s renovation.
2. We, the youths want more economical, political, cultural and social support from Afghanistan government and world community and we want Afghanistan government and world community to provide more material and spiritual assistance to youth affair deputy ministry for the implementation and youth’s capacity building.
3. Recently, some irresponsible foreigners have raised and spread the issue of Afghanistan’s division through media and want to prolong the problems in Afghanistan. Youth national conference participants consider the presenters of such opinions as the true enemies of Afghanistan and these participants announce that Afghanistan is a united nation and anyhow its division is impossible, so for the safeguard and protection of Afghanistan, we want to declare to the government of Afghanistan that Afghan youths are ready for any kind of sacrifice to prevent internal and external enemies of our country to cultivate the seeds of discord among our nation.
4. The government should provide educational opportunity in all level; literacy, baccalaureate, bachelor, masters and PhD through translating up-to-date books into national languages and standardizing them according to the country’s education system. We also want the Government to distribute the scholarships justly among the Youths.
5. Unemployment converts youth’s problems and difficulties into a bigger problem and it is a shame for the government of Afghanistan, so government is responsible to facilitate the work opportunities and youth’s employment in governmental and private sectors.
6. Even though Youths are a majority of the country’s population, but they are deprived of involvement in the fundamental political and social decisions making process. So we want the government, especially the President, to enhance the effective role of the Youths in the structures for the development of the Country.
7. Afghan government should seriously follow and eradicate corruption from three main parts including governmental organs, such as, juridical, judicial and financial and foreign organization.
8. Narcotics not only defame Afghanistan in the world but also thousands of the youths are annually sacrificed of this phenomenon, so we are asking for a serious and crucial struggle for the eradication of narcotics’ cultivation and trafficking and want the relevant administrations to develop training programs and publications for public awareness and allocate a specific substitution budget to farmers and provide employment opportunities to all people in different levels.
9. As it is obvious for all of us that during 30 years of disorder in Afghanistan, all the country men and women have been affected specially youth (female and male), so youth national conference participants strongly suggest both sides (government and opposition) to honestly accept the reconciliation process and stop the continuation of the war in the country. Youths are committed to take a strong role for the fulfillment of the work.
10. Security an essential need of the human society and for the betterment of the security in Afghanistan, youth’s ideas should be taken in to consideration, because, desirably or undesirably youths are the main victims of jobbers and government opponents’ wants, so we want Afghanistan government and would community to take effective measures for give youth the incentive of responsibility toward people and country’s destiny, taking the real needs and wants of the youth’s in to consideration.
11. Youths don’t observe conscription to the interest of the country and they reject the establishment of the social militia. They strong support president Karzai’s decision for the termination of private security companies.
12. As we all know during foreign forces’ military operations in Afghanistan a number of our innocent countrymen are being injured or killed, we the youths that think about a free and independent Afghanistan want them to stop these uncoordinated operation and killing of our innocent countrymen.
13. Women that make half of the society are deprived of many of social and political privileges, so youths realize the effective role of the women in all aspects and want authorities to provide them adaptable educational, capacity building and employment opportunities.

We, the youth national conference participants, have resolved the above items and want Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and world community to be committed and take fast, honest and practical steps for the fulfillment of the above items.
